These vows from E slayed me so I had to share. They are a combination of her words and some modification from the book Wide Awake: “People are like cities: we all have alleys and gardens, sidewalk cracks and secret rooftops. But most of the time, we only let each other see a postcard glimpse of a skyline, or a polished square. Love lets you find those hidden places in another person, even the ones they didn’t know were there, even the ones they wouldn’t have thought to call beautiful themselves.”
You have seen more of my sidewalks and alleyways than anyone. Through your unconditional love, you have shown me that these are not imperfections. Instead, you have supported and loved every facet of me in a way I never knew possible.
